New Member Of The Family

We have a new member in our family, and no, it is not a baby or an in-law. Haha  It is a puppy.  Her name is Maggie.  She is lovable and precious.  She is actually an early birthday gift for Haley.

Last Wednesday I was supposed to go watch Haley and Mason while Andrew and Nikki went out to celebrate their 7th anniversary.  Happy Anniversary guys!!  Seven years is a long time.

When I got to their apt., I found out there was a change of plans.  Nikki had been looking for a dog for Haley and the kind she wanted was $800.  It just so happened that she found one that had a pure-bred mother that accidently mated with the neighbor hound dog.  :)  It turned out really well, though, because it was only $50.  She had already had her first shots and everything, so I think they came out ahead getting her.  The thing was, they needed to pick her up soon.  So, this was the perfect opportunity.  Haley just ended up with an early birthday gift.

Before they left, they told Haley they were going to bring her a surprise.  She was so excited.  I love her so, so much!!!  I love seeing her so happy and excited.  There was no way she could understand how wonderful it was going to be though. :)

I loved spending time with the babies.  I held Mason a lot and he loved it.  He has been crawling awhile now.  He crawls army style (on his tummy) if he wants to go really fast, but regular crawling sometimes. He loves to stand at the couch or somewhere he can hold on to.

He has the most adorable little smile and I love him so very much!!!  Nikki is trying to help Haley gain weight after her virus.  She has been making fudge pops with Pediasure.  Haley loves them.

Both of my grands are so special to me.

I had brought Haley this cute hairstyling kit and Mason a new outfit.  Haley was styling my hair and we were having so much fun.  Nikki called to tell me they were there and not to let Haley look out the window.  I wasn't worried because she was fixing my hair.  Haley must have heard Nikki's voice because she said, "there's Mommy" and started running to the window.  I had a hard time keeping her away.  She thought it was so funny (I did too).  She said, "there is Mommy's car".  They had gone in Andrew's car though--good thing.  Haley didn't see the puppy before they got inside.

Nikki covered her eyes, and Andrew brought in Maggie.

When Haley saw her, she went straight to her.
Hello :)

I think it was love at first sight for both of them.
Maggie seemed to be happy and right at home.
Haley loved Maggie's new pen and bed.

I'm sure she would have been happy to sleep with Maggie.

The next day Nikki sent me a picture of Haley and Maggie.

Already best friends.

In other news, we got a new tv.  Every time Andrew and Nikki upgrade to something  better, we upgrade to their old stuff. :D  Our old tv was a mamoth flat screen that was so heavy it was hard to even get it in the house.  We got it when Andrew and Nikki upgraded to the tv we just got.  Now that they have upgraded again, so have we. lol

The new tv is thin and a lot better picture.  The truth is, I was perfectly fine with the old tv, but this one is better.  Ryan decided he wanted the old tv in his bedroom.  He never watches tv in there unless he is sick and in bed.  His game station is in the living room because I don't want him secluded in his room all the time.  I read somewhere that the worse thing you can ever do is put a tv in your kid's bedroom, and I agree.  Andrew had his tv and games in his bedroom.  I hardly saw him when he was playing his xbox games.  He didn't want to be bothered either.  It was not a good situation.  I learned my lesson.  When Ryan got a new computer, I told him it had to go in the living room.  I know it would look better in the bedroom, but it is best for Ryan.  And that is what matters most to me.

Ryan and I have been cleaning out and getting rid of stuff.  He cleaned out his bedroom so he would have room for the old tv.  He put his chest in his closet and we took his desk and underbed drawers to Papaw's to burn.  Ryan loves a bonfire.

Papaw thought it was too good to burn, so he saved it.  We got rid of our king sized bed and put a queen in it's place.  We have so much more room now.

Matthew came over to help Ryan and me move the old tv to Ryan's bedroom.  That thing is so big, I had to buy a dolly to move it on.  Matthew was such a big help!!!  He and Ryan did most of the moving.

I vacuumed and dusted.  And then I chilled with Cruzer and watched.

Finally everything is installed and ready.

Matthew loved our  new tv.  He said he hated playing games on that old tv. LOL  He said no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't read the words.  You know, I didn't know how bad it was.  I was perfectly satisfied with it.  I must be getting old.  I don't feel like I have to have the latest and best.

So, we have had a lot of changes here lately.  I hope Maggie does wonderful.  I am sure I will not be spending a lot of time with her.  If I am around my grandbabies, they are my thrill and enjoyment.  Who cares about a dog.  Ok, I am kidding (sort of).  My main attention is going to be on my grands for sure.  We are really enjoying the new tv, and also getting things cleaned and simplified.  The next thing we really, really need is new flooring.  I don't think Andrew and Nikki can upgrade to help us with that.  Too bad!

I had been on Xanga for years and I really loved it there.  I made wonderful blog friends and journaled a lot of my life.  It is really hard to change, but hopefully, blogging here will be as wonderful as xanga has been.
