Martha usually takes care of Micah on Wednesday's. This was going to be a long day for her, so I went to keep her company for a while. It had nothing to do with seeing my new little love of course. (ahem) She sent me the sweetest picture before I left my house.
I couldn't wait to see him! It had been a few days since I had seen him (well, last Wednesday), so I didn't know if he would remember me. He was so comfortable with me. He let me help take care of him, and I was in baby heaven. He talked and talked and laughed and squealed. He even fixed my hair while I was rocking him to sleep.
Just one more spot....
One time when Martha was rocking him to sleep,
he raised his head and started talking to me. 💖
I got so tickled at him when Martha was trying to make him smile. I can't remember if she was singing or dancing, but this was his look.
What on earth is she doing, Micah? LOL He did laugh and talk to her after that.
I had the best time!!
A little after 4, I left to go to Dad's. Wednesday's are my scheduled day to go get his mail and paper for him. I always get him a chick-fa-la chicken sandwich. He loves them. As soon as I get there, he is always sitting at the kitchen table waiting for his meal. I wash his dishes, make his bed, and do anything else he needs. Then, I sit down and talk to him while he eats. I keep him up to date on everything going on in my family.
Then I go home and fix supper for my family. Last night I fixed beans and rice. I brown ground beef with onions, peppers, and garlic. I drain that, and then add a large can of pork and beans. To that I add around three cups of cooked rice. It is so so good, but I usually don't eat it. I am not sure if the pork and beans have gluton in them or not. I feel amazingly better since I have gone gluten free. I just ate leftovers.
Last night Ryan wanted to change the fuel filter in his old truck. He uses this truck as a second driver and to haul things. It has come in handy a lot of times. He told me a couple of months ago that the fuel filter was going out. We discontinued the insurance until summer. Then, we started needing to haul things, so he decided to fix it.
I helped him raise the truck bed, and he propped it on wood planks.
I stayed downstairs the whole time he worked on it because I knew it was dangerous for it to be propped up like that. He was not able to fix it, so he gave up until tonight. He and Matthew are downstairs right now working on it.
You would think after seeing Micah yesterday, going to Dad's and helping Ryan, I would sleep wonderful last night. I hardly slept. Today, Feb 15, was predicted to be very warm with no rain. Since it has been raining so much the past week, I decided to work on weeding my landscaping. I figured it would be soft dirt and easy to pull the weeds. It was a lot easier for sure. I weeded the front two spots, and even cleaned out the side bed that hadn't been cleaned for years.
That wheelbarrow is overflowing with weeds and dead stuff from that bed. The foundation needs to be painted, and it is in my plans for the summer. I worked outside for two hours. It was backbreaking getting up and down. My legs were shaking by the time I finished. That is how out of shape I am.
My shoes were soooo muddy.
Yes, that is the downstairs trash can. There is no way I want to spend time getting off that mess. They were old shoes anyway.
Last weekend when the grands were here, it rained so much they cancelled church services. This is the road right in front of my church.
It has been so rainy!
After working outside, I came upstairs and ate a snack. Then I took a nap for less than an hour. I felt so much better. For supper tonight, I fixed homemade pizza.
It usually takes around two hours to fix it from start to finish. It is so good so it is totally worth it. I don't fix it often tho. I washed almost all of the dirty dishes while they were baking. Yay!
Today I got the sweetest snapchats from my little Mason.
Hahaha I love getting snapchats from my babies. I am only friends with them and Martha. I do not trust it as a social media. I really like that the videos disappear after 24hrs. It is a great way for the babies to connect with me. They send them to Martha too.
Last Sunday as I was taking Haley and Mason home, they drew pictures for me. I think they do such a great job drawing and I LOVE when they draw pictures for me. Mason drew me a picture of spongebob, his pet snail Gary, and a jellyfish.
I love it!! And I think he did a great job being only 5 yrs. old. He also colored a minion for me.
While he was coloring and drawing, he would say, "GiGi, what color is black and blue and white mixed? Gigi, what color is yellow and black mixed? " I was really impressed with how well he stayed in the lines. I remember when Andrew started kindergarten, and his coloring was all outside the lines.
Haley drew me a popsicle.
I don't know why the pic took with the word backwards. She is such a great artist. The last time they were here (not this past weekend), they both spent time drawing.
Haley really surprises me how well she draws. She drew a picture (she didn't finish) of Mark wrestling with her and Mason. She is on Mark's shoulders, and Mark is throwing Mason on the couch.
Isn't that amazing?! Nikki needed a picture for her bedroom. So, she gave Haley a canvas and squirted on the paint she wanted.
This was the finished painting.
Doesn't it look beautiful?
I have so much more to journal, but I am going to have to stop for now. I have an 8AM appointment tomorrow morning to get my haircut. Why oh why did I make it that early?? I will have to get up at 5:30AM to get there that early. I hope I can sleep tonight.
Until next time....
Three things I am thankful for:
1. Ryan and Matthew got Ryan's truck fixed! (they just came upstairs and told me)
2. I was able to work outside today, and it was warm like spring.
3. That God blesses us with wonderful things to eat and enjoy.
